If there is one thing that is more misunderstood than anything else when it comes to advertising on the Internet, it's choosing a bulk email service. Although there are many different things that need to be considered whenever choosing one of these, the simple fact of the matter is that sending out an email blast is a legitimate way of doing business online, provided it is done with an ethical company. Many people try to go with a free email list service or to use some type of rogue software on their computer,
but this is different than what I am talking about. Here is how to choose a bulk email service company that will not land you in hot water. The main thing that you need to learn whenever it comes to choosing one of these services is how they got the opt in. If they simply went out and gathered the email addresses automatically using some kind of a scraper, that is unethical email marketing and more than likely, you will end up in trouble as a result of their efforts. A true bulk email service that is following all of the regulations that have been put into place over spam issues will use double opt in or at the very least, single opt in email in order to put together these lists. Always make sure of where the e-mails came from before you decide to use one of these services.
It may also be tempting to send out an email blast through a free email list service. This is also something that needs to be looked at with some scrutiny on your part. There are a few companies that are available online to do a fairly good job, but more than likely you're going to have to gather the email addresses yourself. If you are going to be receiving leads from one of these services, more than likely you're going to have to pay them for every lead that they deposit into your account.
One final option that you have is to run software on your computer that will send out bulk email. In some cases, this is quite impossible as many ISPs block the access to the SMTP server so that you can not send out more than five or 10 messages at a time. If they recognize a pattern and ascertain that you are sending out bulk email, you will end up losing your Internet account over it.
Regardless of whether you are using a free email list service or if you are using software on your computer, always make sure that you are in compliance with any spam regulations that are in existence. Yes, you can do quite well using the right bulk email service but using the wrong one will end up costing you a lot in the end. |
