For instance, they recommend that you include your full zipcode, which means including the extra 4 digits. Another example is using the correct abbreviation – using “Apt” instead of the pound sign (#). For the address mail block, you may have some options. An example is being entitled to additional savings if you place USPS-approved barcodes on your mail piece.
The next thing that you need to do is sorting your mail pieces. Now this may be a very tedious task to do. So tedious that most people get discouraged to go into direct mailing. This is because mail pieces must be sorted based on very strict specifications. One solution to this problem is to sort your mails before printing them. Microsoft Excel can help you do this. You can sort the spreadsheet by zip code before printing a mail merge. Presto, you’re done with sorting your mails.
Another exhausting process is stuffing envelopes. If you plan to be into multiple mailing, you can opt to invest on a folder-inserter. It is basically a machine that will do the stuffing for you. It may be costly but it sure will save you a lot of time and effort.
And then it is time to deposit your mail. Standard mails must be deposited at a designated drop facility. This can be discussed with the Business Mail Entry Unit.
